From 2011 to 2015, I worked in San Jose, California, for the local publication Content Magazine. I could pitch articles without a writing partner as a photographer and writer. Most of my interviews are focused on local musicians. There is nothing more energizing than photographing musicians; there is an ebb and flow to getting “the” shot that differs from staged photography. A grouping of my work is featured in print in this gallery.
MUSIC
Some keys unlock multiple doors. This was the case with my photography journey. After publication, my portfolio opened several opportunities to photograph Latin Grammy award-winning Bomba Estereo and punk rock legend Iggy Pop and cover shows at venues such as Music Festival Outside Lands, The Chapel, and the National Civic Auditorium.
