I have fat, I am not fat.
Years I have been plagued by a number on the scale.
Doctors visits, high school weigh-ins and frustrating diets that leave me feeling that the work I put in is for nothing, because the number on that scale does not change very much.
In the last year I have been learning more and more how connected our thoughts control our physical selves. Everything is connected and effects the way we feel. Food, mood, activity levels, joy, etc… Negative thought patterns can create lasting negative effects that reflect on and in our physical bodies.
Today I weighted myself this morning and it's not a number I feel represents the way I feel. But it's real and I have fat. It’s a fact, but I am not fat.
Today, I am deciding that little number on the scale will not control my mood, or change the way I am approaching this journey. I have failed at fad diets in the past, I have felt discouraged, disappointed and tired…. but it's just a metric, a marker on how much more work I need to do but also a marker on how far I have come. The number may not be smaller but it's bigger than that little number. Am I stronger? Has my BMI changed? Energy levels? All of these things are JUST as important and markers for success. When we change our focus onto the big picture we can then look at who we need to bring onto our team to help us move to the next level. Maybe I can't break past this number by myself but what I hav achieved is awesome. So now it's time to build my team.

There are sacrifices that have to be made in order to achieve goals. I have decided to downsize and move from my current living situation into a more healthy supportive living environment. This is my year. and I will not let these little bumps throw me off.
I want to share this journey with anyone who is also needing accountability, support and motivation. Some of my posts will be professional, personal and random. I will be posting the things I learn, my process, pains, inspiration. I hope it serves as inspiration and motivation for you. to keep going, keep striving for your goals stay positive and live whole.
